Q – WHERE DO THE NEWBORN SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Anya Coleman Photographer sessions take place in the convenience of your own home. We bring the studio to you, all in the comfort and cleanliness of your own home so you don’t have to take your newborn to an outside location.
Q – If We Don’t Want To Signed Photo Release Form?
Not a problem we have an addition fee of $100 to the session fee.
Q – When is the best time for those cute newborn photos?
The best time to photograph newborns is between 4 days and 2 weeks old when the baby is very sleepy and “mold-able”. The focus in this type of session is on shots of the baby looking perfect, usually in blankets, wraps, hats, & headbands. The session can last up to 3 hours with feeding, potty breaks, and posting. Editing this type of session also takes quite a bit of time as each image needs to go through Photoshop individually to get a polished end result.
Q – My baby is 3/4/5 weeks old, but I want to do a newborn session. Is it too late?
At this time we only photograph newborn babies and the newborn must be less than 3 weeks old.
Q – Circumcision?
With baby boys with being circumcised. They are a little uncomfortable and hate being touched down there, or laid on their bellies where they boy pieces rub against things. If possible, schedule the session for before the circumcision; otherwise, wait a few weeks so everything can heal up. It’s not a requirement, but the session will run smoother.
Q – TIME OF DAY MATTERS?
Best to schedule a newborn session for first thing in the morning. This is a time when most babies sleep more soundly. The afternoon can be very tricky as they approach the afternoon witching hour. Anyone who has kids can attest to the fact that kids of all ages tend to not be at their best as late afternoon approaches. It is the same for newborns.
Q – DO YOU TAKE SIBLING AND/OR FAMILY PHOTOS WITH BABY?
We are happy to capture a couple of siblings and/or parent and family photos at no additional cost. However, the majority of the session will be focused on capturing a wide variety of newborn poses.
